Year 3 at Hartford Manor

Welcome to the Autumn Term

Welcome back.

This term we are covering the topic - Why is Tutankhamen Famous?

We will be looking at life in Ancient Egypt and making comparisons with life in Egypt today. We will focus on homes, religion, landscape, the Nile, food and what it would be like to live during these times. We use evidence to learn about Pharoahs and tombs. We also have an Egyptian day planned. Most of the topic is history based but we also look at the geography of the area.

Throughout the term we will be using texts linked to the topic focussing on characterisation and plot and some poetry.

Healthy living is important at Hartford Manor and we will be using the Trim Trail as well as having our P.E. sessions outside on the field. Please come to school in your full P.E kit on your P.E. days. If you need suncream then please apply at home and bring in some to reapply if required, as well as a hat for those hotchilly days.

Our P.E days this term are Wednesday and Thursday. Please wear a suitable P.E. kit ( white polo or T -shirt, plain dark coloured shorts or joggers and a school jumper and trainers) on these days. Please also bring a filled water bottle for the classroom.
