Hartford Manor Primary School arts talent goes on display

On Wednesday, 17th May, our school hosted an art exhibition to showcase the wonderful multi-cultural art that the children spent the spring term producing.

Every child in the school from nursery to year 6 had contributed to the exhibition and all pictures were catalogued and displayed in picture frames for parents to admire and purchase.

Mrs Barwise who teachers our year 3 children and organiser of the exhibition said: “The children have produced some stunning art. Visual arts play a big part in the life of the school; it is an activity that every child can enjoy and play a full part in.”

“Having their pictures framed and displayed was a big occasion for the children and having someone to show it to added an important finishing touch,” added Mrs Barwise.

With over 200 pictures purchased at the event, the money raised will fund future arts and multi-cultural projects at the school.

Our Head Teacher, Mr Kidwell said: “The children’s involvement and enthusiasm for this project has been outstanding. The project has been a huge success and their work is truly wonderful. We’re delighted to have been able to give the children the opportunity to showcase their hard work at the school for everyone to enjoy.”

Mrs Barwise was supported in organising this wonderful art exhibition by our nursery teacher, Mrs Hague and the pictures were beautifully framed by Images Stafford. Complimentary refreshments, including homemade bakes, were served by our school PTA, the Friends of Hartford Manor.

We look forward to hosting future art exhibitions here at Hartford Manor.
