How does a Chinese raffle work?
As usual, we'll be running the raffle at the Summer Fair as a Chinese Raffle. This has always been a hugely popular attraction at our Fair .
But what is a Chinese raffle?
For those new to the school, here's a quick run-down of how it works.
A Chinese Raffle is a more fun and interactive way of organising a raffle - you won't end up with a prize you didn't really want! You'll be able to choose exactly which prize you'd like to be in with a chance of winning. Each prize will have a labelled bucket in front of it. If you'd like to be in the draw for that prize then you fold your ticket half and put it in the the corresponding bucket. And towards the end of the Fair, as the buckets fill up, you can get an idea of the number of tickets you're competing with. But be careful - you must only put one side of the ticket strip in the bucket - you must present the matching half to claim the prize.
