A strong partnership between parents and teachers is fundamental to a good education. Parents should not hesitate to contact school if they are worried about their child's progress or welfare. Staff are only too willing to give up their time to talk to parents, however, it must be appreciated that the teacher has the responsibility of a class. We would not want to neglect the needs of other children in the class, so it is best to make a mutually convenient appointment.

We have parent/teacher meetings during the school year where parents have the opportunity to talk to the teacher about how their child is progressing and to see their child’s work. The school is always open for parents to look around. At the end of each academic year parents will receive a written report which will outline progress and set future targets.

Many parents already enjoy helping in school with a variety of tasks and listening to children read.  There is more information about joining the reading team here.  Without parental help it would be difficult to organise educational visits, transport school teams or raise school funds to provide additional equipment and resources which enhance the quality of our children’s education. If you can help in school please let your child’s class teacher know.

If you haven't got time to come in and help, another option you could consider to support the school is to do so via our Amazon Wish List.  This is a brilliant way to contribute - next time you're doing some shopping at Amazon, why not pop a little something extra in your basket for the school library.  We really appreciate any donations you can make to help keep our library full of new, interesting books in tip-top condition.  It's also wonderful for other family members who'd like to support the school but who don't live locally.  It's easy and quick to access - click here to find out more.

We also have a very active Friends of Hartford Manor, who support the school by various fundraising events.  You are automatically a member of FOHM as soon as your child joins our school.  There's always something, big or small, that you can contribute - from becoming a committee member to buying a pint of milk, it all helps.  Click here to go to their pages and find out what they do and how you can get involved.
